Vapor Life

For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away (James 4:14).

Our local newspaper, on the back page, tells us how many days are left in the year. I am always amazed at how quickly the year vanishes away.

What we live now is just the vapor-life. With this life so fleeting and momentary, is it little wonder that the confident expectation of Scripture is permanent-life in the resurrection?

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory” (I Corinthians 15:53-54).

Thank God, the best is yet to come!
