Overstepping Influence

Although there is a very important place for the impact of others in our lives, conversely, maybe you have allowed others to overstep this mutual influence by letting them actually attempt to live your life for you – or at least parts of it. In your relationship with them you have not been free to follow your own heart, thus creating apprehension, tension, anxiety, stress and heartache.

Maybe your desire for “peace” and “harmony” with certain people close to you; your dread of the potential “drama” and “displeasure” that they can create; or even your fear of losing their “friendship” and “love,” or your desire to be “accepted” or “approved” by them has caused you to give way to them and to lose yourself in the process.

You belong to God; reject the pressures of others to live their lives for you – this place belongs to God alone. Resist conformity; embrace uniqueness.

I am what I am, by God’s grace! (I Corinthians 15:10).
