True Success

Be not judging anything before the season, until the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God (I Corinthians 4:5).

Earthly success can be a relative thing; it really all depends on who is doing the measuring. The world about us has different standards for determining success. Ultimately, all true success will be determined at “the award platform of Christ” (Romans 14:10; II Corinthians 5:10, BSV).

There are many activities and ventures which by economic, social and religious standards, appear to be successful. These are honored, respected and celebrated; but all that glitters is not gold. What is genuinely successful, and of true value, will be determined at the “the award platform of Christ.” It alone is the official measure of the real success of this life – an awards ceremony for those who have fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith. It alone will reveal what was of real value in this life. The outcome may be surprising to many. Don’t be misled by premature earthly judgments.
